A businessman from Chandni Chowk sought a blend of tradition and modernity for his new home in New Delhi. Collaborating with LAD Studio, we crafted a four-storey structure with a nod to the old city’s charm. The ground floor hosts parking, while the upper floors cater to individual family members, culminating in a duplex for the owner. Movable louvers shield west-facing rooms from harsh sunlight, while three-sided openness invites natural light and ventilation. Indoors, indigenous materials like Makrana marble and teak evoke a connection to the past, accentuated by vibrant tapestries. The kitchen seamlessly integrates modern and traditional aesthetics, featuring teal accents and bespoke mild steel partitions. The master bedroom exudes tranquility with etched wood accents and pastel upholstery.

The upper floor living room offers a cozy retreat, adorned with vibrant yellow upholstery. The sons’ bedrooms reflect their personalities, with vibrant teal tones for the younger son’s room and a minimalistic layout for the elder son’s gaming zone. Throughout, the design harmonizes tradition with contemporary comfort, honoring the client’s heritage while embracing modern living.
